Tracy Ray & The Mojos

Tracy Ray and The Mojos play a mixture of funky blues and jazz.
Drawing on repertoire from Nina Simone, Ruth Brown, Ray Charles, Jimmy Smith, Herbie Hancock and other jazz / blues greats they capture the soulful, groovy and danceable side of the blues to create a great party atmosphere at any event.
Tracy Ray is a regular on the London jazz scene and The Mojos – Dave Lagnado (double bass), Mike Watts (drums), Damian Hand (saxophone / flute) and Dave Baldwin (organ) have played with many major artists including Van Morrison, Georgie Fame, Jerry Lee Lewis, James Hunter, Jerry Dammers, Chris Farlowe, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck to name a few.

Wednesday 8th September (7.00pm)

Roland Paul

Born in Wimbledon, South West London in the midst of the rock n roll scene of the 1960s- there was only one route Roland was destined to follow.  Picking up the guitar at the age of 12, he was inspired by great artists such as The Beatles, The Who, Rolling Stones, Kinks, Jam, Paul Weller, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan to name but a few. As a professional touring musician he developed a unique style of entertaining audiences, culminating in the founding of his band The Allbeats in 2005 in which he is the charismatic frontman.

With over 35 years of experience Roland has amassed a repertoire of over 2000 songs covering all genres including blues, jazz, pop, rock n roll, folk and country.

Known locally as the jukebox, he prides himself on truly authentic, live performances without backing tracks or reading from lyric sheets. A truly versatile musician… challenge him to play your favourite song request!

Dave Priseman Duo

Dave is a well known jazz trumpeter based in London. He has been active on the London music scene for 30 years and has worked  with a diverse selection of Artists such as Imelda May ,Van Morrison , Allen Toussaint , Jeff Beck , Plan B , Ray Gelato , Jools Holland and many others .
Relax to his beautiful mellow Trumpet and Flugel Horn tone and his interpretations of Jazz standards from the American Songbook.

Charismatic singer / guitarist Emrys Baird of The Soul Immigrants brings his soulful summer vibes to The Wharf. His laid back interpretations of funky jazz , reggae and ska classics are the perfect musical accompaniment to your experience at The Wharf.

House Trio

Members of the Trio have worked with a host of well known artists including - Van Morrison, Richard Thompson, Allen Toussaint and Chris Farlowe. The Trio provide the ideal ambience for your dining experience at The Wharf with their sophisticated renditions of popular jazz standards from the Great American Song Book.

Stuart Henderson Trio

From 1983 - 2005 Stuart was principal trumpet of The Scots Guards Band in Her Majesty’s Household Division. During this period he played many times for the Royal Family and at State occasions all over the world.

Since leaving the services Stuart has become a fixture on the UK jazz scene appearing with many of the countries finest jazz musicians.

He has played at numerous jazz festivals and has appeared at top London venues such as Ronnie Scotts Club, The 606 club and Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho.

His latest project “Back to Blue Note” has had rave reviews and recent Jazz collaborations include Purdy, The Rebecca Poole Quartet, The Jack Honeybourne Allstars, The Denny Ilett big band and The Remix Jazz Orchestra (Musical Director)

His commercial work has included, the String of Pearls Orchestra, The Joe Loss Orchestra and The Showbiz Pops Orchestra

Pete Saunders Duo

Pete Saunders, with a voice that's been around the block will remind you of Tom Waits or Doctor John. His funky bluesy takes on Jazz, Pop and Rock classics are  irreverent and eclectic. It’s a world where the Cure meet the Aristocats and Ellington meets popular TV themes.

Pete started  out in the original line up of Dexy's Midnight Runners when he was a teenager and since then has played and sung on stages with bands cabaret groups and solo from here to Australia and from the Barbican to Berlin.

Friday 24th September (7.00pm)

Jo Harrop Trio

Born in Durham and raised on a heady musical diet of Nina Simone, Billie Holiday and Aretha Franklin, Jo Harrop cut her teeth as a session singer, working with a host of iconic artists including Neil Diamond, Rod Stewart, Gloria Gaynor and Enrique Iglesias. 

After moving to London, she quickly established herself as one of the most unmistakable voices in British jazz, performing everywhere from the Royal Albert Hall to the Sunset Sunside Jazz Club in Paris.

Having signed to London-based jazz label, Lateralize Records, she recently received a raft of rapturous reviews for Weathering The Storm, her debut with guitarist, Jamie McCredie. Effortlessly blurring the lines between jazz and folk, it’s an achingly beautiful album that is so shot through with pathos and pain, it could melt the hardest of hearts.

Mandy Bell Duo

Mandy began her career in the theatre, acting and dancing before her love of music saw her specialising as an in demand vocalist .

She has recorded with a wide range of artists  -The Moody Blues, Helen Shapiro, Gloria Gaynor, INXS, Mike and the Mechanics, Curiosity Killed The Cat and Pulp and has appeared on iconic TV shows such as ‘Top of the Pops’ and  ‘Later’ with Jools Holland .

As a jazz artiste and writer she has recorded her own sessions for Radio Two. She has also appeared at prestigious jazz venues such as the 606 Club in Chelsea and The Pizza Express, Soho.

She will be performing a mellow selection of jazz and pop standards accompanied by her brother Paul Bell on piano.
